Resident Member
Erin Griffin, D.O. Wilmington, NC
Being born and raised in North Carolina, I am thrilled to hold the position of NCOMA’s Resident Representative. I am originally from Sanford, NC and now currently live in Wilmington, NC. Currently I am a third year resident at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Family Medicine Department. I attended UNC Chapel Hill for my undergraduate degree. There, I majored in Biology and have a minor in Chemistry. I then took a year off, which I partly spent traveling in Australia. For my Doctor of Osteopathic Degree I attended Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY. I plan to reside in Eastern North Carolina upon graduation as an out patient family physician. For fun I enjoy boating, golf, and spending time with family. Recently, we took our boat out for flotilla, Wilmington’s annual Christmas parade on the water; definitely a must see if you are ever in Wilmington at Christmas. My mission this year is to increase involvement of Osteopathic Residents in NCOMA. I look forward to the progress to come in the upcoming year. It is an exciting time to be an Osteopathic Physician!
Past President
Beverly Goode-Kanawati, D.O. Raleigh, NC
Dr. Goode-Kanawati is the immediate Past President of NCOMA and has been an active member for the past five years. She represented North Carolina at the 2007 AOA House of Delegates. She is a family physician board certified in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, (ABPS). She places special interest and emphasis on Endocrinology and Thyroid disorders in her practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is second only to the pride she takes in her training as an Osteopathic Physician, and fondly reflects on her training that focused on a more rounded and complete approach to patients, that enables her to treat them as people and not diseases.
