Campbell University Interprofessional Education presents The Emily Jerry Story: From Tragedy to Redemption, Triumph, and Hope featuring special guest speaker, Chris Jerry, CEO and President of the Emily Jerry Foundation. The session will offer CME credit for osteopathic physicians. (See details below.)  There is no CME fee for Campbell University appointed faculty.  The fee for other physicians is $25. Individuals that wish to receive CME credit should register here.  The session is free to individuals not seeking CME credit.  Those individuals should register here.  

The Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic medical education for physicians.  CUSOM designates this program for 2 AOA Category 2 A credits and will report CME credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.  The learning objectives for the session are:

  1. Discuss the value of team-based care, specifically in regards to patient safety.
  2. Discuss the causes and implications of medical errors and strategies to avoid them, specifically in relation to the interprofessional collaborative healthcare team. 
  3. Discuss the ethical responsibilities of healthcare providers when providing patient-centered care.
  4. Model respect for the contributions and expertise of fellow colleagues from other professions. 
  5. Identify and discuss the qualities of a safety culture that enhance harm prevention.
